AMIA Annual Symposium

A panel of experts, including members involved in Digital Bridge, will present at the AMIA Annual Symposium this fall. The session, entitled “Advancing Electronic Case Reporting (eCR) to Enable Public Health Disease Control and Emergency Response: Getting into the Technical Weeds (session S109),” will describe the current manual difficulties in reporting public health data and how eCR can be used as a solution. Panelists will share how the current eCR strategy will work, the technical standards that support bi-directional communication between health care and public health, and the strengths and limitations present in the proposed eCR approach. The presentation will take place Wednesday, November 8 from 8:30 a.m.-10:00 a.m.

Panelists include Catherine Staes (University of Utah), John Loonsk (CGI Federal), Kathryn Turner (Idaho Department of Health and Welfare), Noam Arzt (HLN Consulting), and Patina Zarcone (Association of Public Health Laboratories).
