Janet Hui ofthe Council for State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE) will join the panel to discuss the reportable conditions knowledge management system (RCKMS) and how it works.

HIMSS Interoperability Showcase Use Case Demonstration: Public Health Reporting
Timely, accurate and complete data are critical to reduce disease transmission. This use case demonstrates a multi-jurisdictional approach for automated electronic case reporting, using centralized decision support to promote secure bidirectional information exchange between health care and public health.

AMIA Annual Symposium
A panel of experts, including members involved in Digital Bridge, will present at the AMIA Annual Symposium this fall. The session, entitled “Advancing Electronic Case Reporting (eCR) to Enable Public Health Disease Control and Emergency Response: Getting into the Technical Weeds (session S109),” will describe the current manual difficulties in reporting public health data and how eCR can be used as a solution. Panelists will share how the current eCR strategy will work, the technical standards that support bi-directional communication between health care and public health, and the strengths and limitations present in the proposed eCR approach. The presentation will take place Wednesday, November 8 from 8:30 a.m.-10:00 a.m.
